S. C. Tucker Elementary
Hello from S. C. Tucker Elementary School in Danville, Arkansas. I am proud to tell you about a great school in a great community located in beautiful west-central Arkansas. We serve 450 students in grades K-5 as well as 40 pre-school children in the Danville ABC Program. The Office of Education Policy recently named S. C. Tucker Elementary as a top performing school in both math and literacy based on the 2009 Arkansas Benchmark Exams. The OEP also recognizes our school for showing remarkable growth in literacy, placing S. C. Tucker Elementary third in the northwest region of our great state.
We are extremely proud of our excellent test scores and we have worked hard to achieve this remarkable status. S. C. Tucker Elementary provides enrichment and remediation in an After School Program funded by a 21st Century Learning Grant. Our faculty and staff continue to sharpen their skills and deepen their knowledge in literacy and mathematics. Current professional development includes Cognitively Guided Instruction, Early Literacy Learning of Arkansas, MathLinks and Effective Literacy.
S. C. Tucker continually adds state of the art technology and within the 2009-2010 school year every classroom will have Smart Board Technology. Every teacher is fully certified and considered Highly Qualified. Twenty percent of the certified staff has at least one Master’s Degree and four have obtained National Board Certification.
Our Students are our pride and joy and the reason we are here. We find great satisfaction in the achievement we see on a daily basis.
